One of my favourite Italian films of all time. Nero is completely unhinged in this movie.

House of Whipcord (1974)

Creepy, psychotic old ladies torturing and killing nubile young British women.

This film has really polarized opinions among fans and critics, some calling it boring and others finding it extremely powerful.

Director Pete Walker went on to direct some other interesting films like Frightmare (1974), Schizo (1976) and House Of The Long Shadows (1983) starring Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

Beyond The Door (1974) aka The Devil Within Her

A Euro-Trash classic and, along with the blaxploitation film "Abby", one of the most unapologetic rip-offs of the mega-succesful "The Exorcist". This has Gabriele Lavia who was also in other great Italian horror films like Deep Red, Inferno and Zeder.

In my opinion, the head-turning scene in this film (as seen in the trailer) is creepier than the one in the Exorcist.

This film made a lot of money in America and it's success made the distributors of Mario Bava's unrelated film "Schock" to release it as "Beyond The Door 2" in North America.

Policewomen (1974)

Lee Frost is a forgotten director now but he was responsible for a slew of the most exciting drive-in films of the 70's including Chain Gang Women (see one post below), Dixie Dynamite, The Black Gestapo and the classic The Thing With Two Heads (see the Best of... in the top right corner for this amazing trailer).

It doesn't get much better than this...
